This newly funded role for an initial period of two years, will expand the Supporting Children After Separation Program (SCASP) to children who have experienced Family and Domestic Violence. There is also a new role in our East Perth site being advertised separately.

The Supporting Children after Separation Program (SCASP) aims to support the wellbeing of children under the age of 18 years experiencing separated or separating families, and difficult family relationships. The program helps children to address relationship issues arising from these circumstances and provides opportunities for them to participate in decisions that impact them. The SCASP Young Hearts stream conducts recovery-orientated, complex trauma counselling to children who have experienced Family Domestic Violence.
Join our SCASP team in Joondalup where you will provide intake, assessment, feedback and a range of age-appropriate interventions including individual counselling and group work with children.
This is a part time (22.5 hours per week), 2 year opportunity.
This role is 3 days a week, including one late shift (12.30pm to 8.30pm) on either a Tuesday or Wednesday.

About You
What you will bring
To be successful in this role you will have:
* Tertiary degree (4 years) in Social Work, Psychology, Social Science, Counselling or other related discipline
* Demonstrated counselling experience in working with children and families in a therapeutic setting, preferably in respect to family and domestic violence and/or trauma.
* Demonstrated knowledge of child counselling and group work models in their application and current theory, practice and issues related to family and domestic violence and trauma, and impact on children and families.
* Demonstrated knowledge and application of Family Systems theory
* Knowledge of the impact of parental separation on children including an understanding of how conflict affects children
* Experience in advocating and promoting for and behalf of children, young people and their family
The successful candidate must possess a current National Police Clearance valid within one year, a WA Working with Children Check and a WA Drivers Licence.

* Salary from $96,088 per annum pro rata + 11.5% superannuation
* Salary packaging of up to $15,900 (which equates to circa $4K after tax) plus additional salary packaging of up to $2,650 for meal and entertainment expenses
