As a Floor Manager – Event Operations, your main focus will be to co‐ordinate between the guests and the Events team to ensure all functions are carried out as per the client's instructions with an efficient use of resources and technical equipment. You will hold overall responsibility for managing all Event Operations Supervisors, Team Leaders and Food & Beverage Attendants.
* Interpret floor plans and Event Orders and direct team members and assist in placing furniture in position according to function type and number of guests.
* Direct and assist set up of rooms according to Event Orders and function requirements including tables, chairs, table settings, buffets, coffee stations, water stations.
* Direct and assist placing of air walls, dance floors and stages according to communication from Event Services, Event Orders and Floor plans.
* Ensure strict time constraints for set ups are met.
* Check set ups and cleanliness prior to the commencement of functions to ensure function rooms meet and exceed requirements as per Event Orders.
* Enact changes to set ups as instructed by clients.
* Assist in training and coaching all team members in all aspects of the job and signing off Job Skills Checklists as skills are acquired.
* Ensure adequate staffing for each function and match team members assigned according to their skill level and ability
* Ensure that only outstanding and the highest quality products are served.
* Work in your assigned area, adhering to QA and HACCP guidelines and ensuring minimisation of spoilage and waste.
* Ensure correct handling, quality control and storage of all incoming products
* Look after the client and is responsible for having all amendments signed by the relevant contact person and communicated to other relevant departments
What are we looking for?
* 2-4 years in a managerial position in a 4 / 5-star category hotel.
* Good English skills, both written and verbal to meet business needs.
* Familiar with computer systems.
* Motivated and committed, approaching all tasks with enthusiasm and seize opportunities to learn new skills or knowledge in order to improve personal performance.
* Flexible and responds quickly and positively to changing requirements including the performance of any tasks requested of you.
* Maintain high team focus by showing cooperation and support to colleagues in the pursuit of team goals.
* Strong leadership, people management and training skills.
* Guest oriented and able to confidently build and exceed service standards.
* Thorough knowledge of service, cost control in F&B and labour controls
* Strong interpersonal skills and attention to details.
* Hold and maintain a valid Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) Certification
* Outgoing personality and willing to work for long hours.
