Key Job Responsibilities:
* Ensure compliance with Ground Control Management plan and QLD Mining Quarrying and Safety Act.
* Train and mentor Geotechnical Engineers, providing ground awareness training to site personnel.
* Conduct empirical and numerical modeling results for new mining blocks.
* Record and interrogate monitoring instrumentation, report, and develop action plans with operations engineers.
* Ground support product trials and reporting to optimize ground support designs.
* Ensure department performance KPIs are achieved and performance reporting.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
* Tertiary degree in Engineering or Geoscience, with majors in Mining and/or Geotechnical engineering.
* Minimum 6 years of experience in underground hard-rock mining.
* Demonstrate teamwork, communication skills, practical problem-solving skills, and analytical skills.
* Experience in core logging and raise bore stability justifications for shaft infrastructure projects.
* High level of accuracy in work and ability to manage time effectively.
* Competent in RocScience, Deswick, Leapfrog3D, FLAC3D software packages.
* Solid knowledge of risk management, safety systems, and legislative requirements.
