About the division and role
The Senior Change Manager formally reports to the Enterprise Change Practice which reports to the Enterprise Portfolio Office (EPO) in the Finance & Governance Division. The EPO is responsible for driving Capital Project Investment Governance, Assurance and standards across all project Portfolios. This contributes to the Finance & Governance Division, which delivers a variety of crucial cooperate services across the AEMO Group. The Senior Change Manager will support a large, complex work stream across all delivery stages, owning change activities in schedules, stage gate deliverables and approvals to enable change planning, training, people readiness.
The positions have the flexibility to be based out of our offices in – Sydney, Melbourne, Perth.
For these positions applicants must be an Australian citizen with the ability to attain and maintain an appropriate level of national security clearance which will be supported by AEMO.
What you will be doing
Australia is experiencing the world's fastest and most profound power system transformation. The system is being directly impacted by decarbonisation, digitisation, democratisation and decentralisation. This is being accelerated by a complex range of societal, technological, economic and commercial shifts. Reporting to the Portfolio Change Manager, with a dotted line reporting into the relevant Program/Project Manager, the Senior Change Manager will be responsible for leading and delivering (with other Change resources) all required artefacts, materials and activities to support the successful progressive rollout of a suite of projects within this key initiative Portfolio.
These full-time contract (up to 24 months) senior roles are a key enabler for driving and uplifting AEMO's Change Maturity with the ability to support its mission to drive energy market reforms and net zero target. An ideal candidate will be an expert in Change Management methodologies, practices and outcomes, with the ability to work with highly technical and scientifically minded stakeholders, as well as leading Change professionals to deliver program outcomes.
The Senior Change Manager positions vary in the coverage of aspects of change relating to technology, infrastructure, networking and the physical environment.
What you will bring to the role
* Apply AEMO's Enterprise Change Framework, standards and templates to deliver high-quality change artefacts.
* Develop and deliver change plans, impact assessments, communications, training, readiness and handover activities.
* Design and deliver communication, engagement and learning solutions with Portfolio and Communications leads.
* Provide required change inputs and reporting for EPO Stage Gates and portfolio governance.
* Identify, manage and report on change risks, dependencies, schedules and resourcing across initiatives.
* Partner with People & Culture, Communications and Stakeholder teams to ensure consistent, aligned change delivery.
* Lead, coach and develop change team members (where applicable) to build capability and performance.
These roles support the Digital division by delivering impact assessments, training and change activities to enable adoption of new processes, systems and data.
Education/Certificates
* Experience working across Waterfall, Agile and iterative delivery models.
* Certification and experience in change methodologies (e.g. Prosci, Bridges, Kubler-Ross) desirable.
* Change Management Institute Master accreditation desirable.
* Tertiary qualification in Business, Commerce or related discipline desirable.
Experience & Knowledge
* Senior-level experience delivering change across large, complex, people, process and technology initiatives.
* Proven end-to-end delivery of change activities including impact assessments, communications, training, readiness and handover.
* Strong capability across project and change methodologies, including Agile, Waterfall and iterative delivery.
* Expertise in designing and delivering communication, engagement and learning solutions across diverse audiences.
* Highly developed stakeholder engagement, facilitation and co-design skills, with the ability to influence and resolve challenges.
* Strong organisational skills, able to manage competing priorities while coaching and supporting others through change.
