About the Position
We are seeking an experienced Site Foreman to lead the way in the field, working on high profile commercial landscape construction projects for valued long-term clients, across metropolitan Melbourne. From award winning playgrounds, reserves, streetscapes, and wetlands, this position is multi-faceted and leads a variety of projects, providing industry exposure and career growth.
This is an ongoing senior position responsible for overseeing daily operations on landscape job sites, ensuring projects are completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards. The Site Foreman leads and supervises field staff, coordinates tasks and materials, and serves as the primary point of contact on-site to keep work on schedule and within scope.
In addition, the Site Foreman interprets landscape plans, assigns duties, monitors workmanship, and enforces safety procedures while maintaining clear communication with project managers, clients, and team members. This is a hands‐on leadership position requiring strong interpersonal skills, technical landscape knowledge, attention to detail, and the ability to motivate team members while delivering exceptional results.
Key Responsibilities
* Hardscaping and soft scaping work including fencing, decking, and paving.
* Landscape construction and maintenance labouring including planting, mulching, watering, racking, digging, and turf installation.
* Acting as the primary contact for site work.
* Facilitate or ensure a daily toolbox meeting is held prior to the commencement of work each day.
* Ensuring the completion of induction and training requirements for all staff and subcontractors.
* Coordinating site duties for site staff and contractors.
* Report to the Project Manager on all aspects of site work progress.
* Supervising the correct installation and construction of work at each stage of a project.
* Completing projects within budget and timeline requirements and in adherence to specifications and drawings.
* Maintaining adequate quality control to ensure no rework is required.
* Manage minor preventative maintenance of vehicles, plant and equipment as required.
Position Requirements
* Trade Certificate/Qualification in Landscape/Horticulture OR 5 + years' experience.
* Current Victorian Driver's License.
* Construction Induction Card/White Card (essential).
* Traffic Management Certificate.
* Physically fit to manage outdoors work during all seasons.
* A positive, solutions-focused attitude in high-pressure, deadline-driven environments.
* Excellent verbal communication skills and sound written skills.
* Proven ability to execute a broad range of projects through efficient leadership.
* Ability to solve problems and present practical workplace solutions.
