Hawker Memorial Hospital is a 13‐bed facility, including 4 acute beds and 9 aged care beds, proudly serving the Flinders Ranges region as part of the Multi‐Purpose Service (MPS). We provide essential health services including accident and emergency care, general medical care, palliative care, and allied health visits.
About the Role
As a Services Assistant, you will support the daily operations of the health unit by delivering high‐quality catering, cleaning, and laundry services. Your responsibilities include preparing and plating meals, maintaining linen supplies, ensuring a clean and safe environment, and assisting with food service, housekeeping tasks, equipment operation, and routine maintenance. You will focus on efficiency, safety, and customer service to enhance patient comfort and wellbeing.
About You
* Limited experience in housekeeping, cooking/catering, and laundry is sufficient.
* Basic knowledge of safe working conditions.
* Basic knowledge of Food Safety Standards.
* Basic knowledge of Infection Control Standards, including cleaning and sanitising processes.
* Basic knowledge and commitment to customer service principles.
* Familiarity with computer packages such as Microsoft Word and Excel.
* Knowledge and understanding of the Work Health and Safety Act and Risk Management principles.
Additional Information
* Immunisation Risk for this position is Category A (direct contact with blood or body substances).
* Applies to a part‐time vacancy, working 60.8 hours per fortnight; salary will be adjusted according to actual hours worked.
