Clinical Director - Hospital in the Home Apply now Job no: 503235Work type: PermanentLocation: South BrisbaneCategories: Medical OfficersAbout the roleMater Health is currently seeking applications from experienced, motivated and enthusiastic Senior Medical Practitioners to be considered for the role of Clinical Director Hospital in the Home (HITH). Join the team on aPermanent Fulltime or negotiablecapacity at our South Brisbane campus.This role provides an exciting opportunity to safely and effectively provide a diverse range of clinical services outside of the traditional hospital inpatient environment to a wide range of patients across the Greater Brisbane region.Mater Health Services is a world-class group of six hospitals that provide health care services to more than 500,000 people each year. Mater hospitals offer compassionate service to the sick and needy, promote a holistic approach to health care in response to changing community needs and foster high standards in health.You will lead and ensure high-quality, evidence-based acute clinical care in non-hospital settings for the HITH unit. Typical duties include;Provide clinical guidance and support to the HITH nursing team to deliver exceptional careDrive and participate in clinical research to contribute to the evidence base of HITH servicesAdvocate for the strategic and clinical benefits of HITH at all levelsDevelop innovative models of care and clinical pathways for HITHLead service and quality improvement processes, including audits and databasesRepresent the department at relevant meetings and workshopsMonitor and achieve HITH activity and financial targetsOptimise resource utilisation to meet budgetary and Key Performance Indicator goalsReport monthly on productivity and financial performanceEnsure compliance with reporting requirements and risk minimization strategiesAddress educational needs, contribute to policy reviewInvestigate and mitigate clinical incidents and adverse eventsMaintain high standards of infection control for HITH servicesOversee training of fellows, registrars, and residents in the teamProvide governance through the HITH Unit Governance Committee, reporting on key metricsLead by example in quality programs, service improvement, education, teaching, and researchAbout youThis role will suit a dynamic AHPRA-registered Medical Practitioner,with comprehensive experience as a specialist in Hospital in the Home, Emergency Medicine, General Medicine or Infectious Diseases, who works well with other practitioners and is experienced in mentoring and sharing experience with other staff.The ideal applicants will have:Qualified as a medical practitioner, with specialist physician qualification (FRACP or equivalent) and current specialist registration with AHPRADemonstrated ability to review, analyse, and evaluate patient care for appropriate treatment and investigationsComprehensive experience as a specialist in Hospital in the Home/Emergency Medicine/General Medicine/Infectious DiseasesExperience in maintaining high standards of care and responding to emergency or urgent situationsKnowledge of health service improvement methodologies and contemporary care modelsAbility to foster a harmonious and collegiate team environment for medical, nursing/midwifery, and allied health, as well as non-clinical colleaguesAbility to liaise with, mentor, and direct other clinical staff as requiredStrong teamwork skillsExperience in directing and managing a department is desirableMater is Queensland's largest not-for-profit healthcare provider, delivering exceptional care to nearly 700,000 patients each year across 11 (soon to be 12) hospitals.
