About The Role
Finding better waysTM to provide the materials the world needs.
We are looking for skilled High Voltage (HV) Electricians wanting to join our Power Supply team at Boyne Smelter (BSL).
You will join an essential & critical part of the Power infrastructure Team at BSL, maintaining constant power supply to the entire operation.
Reporting to the Maintenance Team Leader, and working a 9 day fortnight roster, your role may involve:
* Maintaining high voltage assets, infrastructure, and distribution systems.
* Operate the high voltage assets to ensure a continuity of electrical supply to Boyne Smelter.
* Identifying root causes of breakdowns.
* Participate in high voltage switching procedures.
* Liaising with external power providers.
* Ability to work effectively both within a team and independently.
What You'll Bring
* A commitment to the safety of yourself and your team
* High Voltage industrial experience.
* An Australian 'A' grade Electrical licence.
* Experience working on overhead networks, transformers & Switching
* A High Voltage Isolation and Access (HVIA) certificate is desirable.

Where you'll be working
Boyne Smelters Limited is Australia's second largest aluminium smelter with a 1,000-person strong workforce. Located approximately 20km south east of Gladstone at Boyne Island on the Central Queensland coast, BSL produces around 500,000 tonnes of aluminium per annum.
Activities at BSL include manufacturing carbon anodes in the carbon plant, aluminium production (smelting) in reduction lines, and casting of molten material into aluminium products ready to ship. The smelter is connected via a conveyor belt to the Queensland Alumina Limited refinery for the supply of alumina.
