About the role
Are you passionate about creating safe, supportive, and thriving workplaces? The Department of Creative Industries, Tourism, Hospitality and Sport is seeking a Safety & Wellbeing Advisor to play a pivotal role in shaping a positive and safe workplace culture for our diverse and dynamic workforce.
As the Safety & Wellbeing Advisor, you will lead and support projects that are delivered on time, within scope, and to the highest quality. You will manage recovery at work cases that achieve positive outcomes, provide expert advice to ensure compliance with legislation, and foster a culture of care and best practice. Your work will contribute to the development of policies, procedures, and initiatives aligned with NSW Government priorities, as well as the coordination of key wellbeing programs such as the annual flu vaccination program and Employee Assistance Program (EAP). You will also research, analyse, and recommend continuous improvement initiatives to strengthen safety and wellbeing across the Department.
To be successful in the role, you will have:
* Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
* Strong project management skills, with the ability to juggle priorities while maintaining a keen eye for detail
* Demonstrated knowledge and experience in workplace health and safety and wellbeing strategies, programs and initiatives
* Sound knowledge of relevant legislation, policies, and contemporary best practice in workplace safety and wellbeing
* Tertiary qualifications in Work, Health & Safety (minimum Certificate IV in WHS) or willingness to undertake accreditation in a related field and/or equivalent experience
* RTW Coordinator Accreditation or equivalent and extensive knowledge of workers' compensation legislation
