We are looking for people to join us in a long‐term relationship to deliver these services in and around Perth where we are working within integrated teams with our customers and to help build Bechtel's capabilities for even greater opportunities in the future.

Job Summary

Support the delivery of sustainability vision for various programs and projects across the capital portfolio by integrating sustainability requirements into planning, design, procurement, and construction oversight. This role requires collaboration with our customer and Capital Portfolio teams and helps ensure that project teams and contractors implement sustainability management plans, track performance, and provide evidence for relevant sustainability standards and ratings.

Major Responsibilities
  • Lead application of sustainability requirements across assigned programs/projects and support the delivery of infrastructure and/or building rating certifications.
  • Communicate the sustainability vision, projects requirements, and performance expectations to project teams and contractors.
  • Coordinate with interdisciplinary teams to embed sustainability requirements within contracts, engineering deliverables, procurement packages, and construction planning.
  • Review consultant and contractor documentation, including certification submissions, ensuring compliance with applicable sustainability standards and rating system requirements.
  • Support tender evaluations by providing sustainability expertise and responding to technical queries.
  • Monitor and review sustainability performance reports, sharing insights with the relevant stakeholders to ensure progress tracking.
  • Participate in meetings, workshops, managing documentations, and tracking minutes, actions and follow‐up.
  • Support design, procurement, and construction teams in translating sustainability objectives into practical and achievable delivery actions.
  • Contribute to sustainability assurance activities (e.g., monitoring, inspections and audits), track performance metrics, identify trends, and drive timely resolution of findings and continuous improvement.
  • Build productive working relationships with project stakeholders, consultants, and construction subcontractors.
Education and Experience Requirements
  • Bachelors degree (or international equivalent) in Sustainability, Environmental Science/Management, Engineering, Architecture, Project Management, or related discipline.
  • 58 years of relevant experience in sustainability and/or environmental roles within construction and/or infrastructure delivery, or 912 years of relevant work experience in lieu of a degree.
  • Experience working with contractors/subcontractors in active delivery environments and supporting compliance with project requirements.
  • Possess current IS or Green Star professional accreditation (both would be ideal), including experience obtaining sustainability ratings on large public buildings and/or infrastructure projects.
Required Knowledge and Skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to influence and build effective working relationships across different levels.
  • Working knowledge of sustainability requirements in construction (e.g., carbon, waste, materials, resource efficiency) and evidence‐based performance tracking.
  • Ability to analyse data, maintain clear records, and prepare concise reports and submissions.
  • Sound planning and organisational skills; able to manage multiple priorities in a fast‐paced environment.
