About the Role
As a Principal Lawyer, you will be responsible for providing expert legal advice and representation on a wide range of discrimination, employment and industrial relations matters.
You will work closely with our team to deliver high-profile projects, proceedings and initiatives across Queensland, acting for government departments and agencies, statutory bodies, commercialized business units, disciplinary boards and tribunals, and local government authorities.
Key Responsibilities
* Conduct professional legal practice and undertake a range of legal work undertaken by the Workplace Law Team.
* Provide authoritative advice to lawyers in the team on complex and sensitive legal matters.
* Supervise and guide other members of the practice in the conduct of legal matters.
* Create a supportive environment where team members strive for best practice and share information freely.
* Assist in promoting our services to clients.
* Provide specialist legal advice and guidance on questions of law.
* Negotiate effectively in tough situations to achieve concessions without damaging relationships.
* Communicate clearly and succinctly in various settings to convey messages that achieve a desired effect.
