Asset Management Technical Developer— Bureau of Meteorology
Position overview
The Bureau's asset management system underpins the effective lifecycle management of a diverse and geographically dispersed portfolio of critical infrastructure and equipment.
The Asset Management Technical Developer will play a key role in the ongoing development, enhancement, and technical support of the Bureau's Enterprise Asset Management (EAM) system, primarily focusing on IBM Maximo and Maximo Mobile platforms.
Responsibilities
Design and implement technical solutions to improve asset management processes and system functionality, including customising applications, automations, escalations, and reports to meet evolving business requirements.
Troubleshoot issues, manage product fixes in partnership with vendors, and ensure the system remains robust and aligned with best practices.
Provide technical coaching, training, and clear documentation to enable adoption of asset management solutions across the organisation.
Collaborate with asset owners, subject matter experts, and vendors to ensure Maximo solutions support strategic asset management goals.
Participate in system upgrades, testing, and integration activities to deliver enhancements that improve efficiency, data integrity, and decision-making.
Initially focus on the Bureau's observing network assets portfolio, with potential to expand to other asset classes (property, ICT, software) to strengthen asset management capability.
Qualifications
Extensive experience in Maximo development and configuration.
Strong understanding of asset management processes and enterprise systems.
Ability to provide technical guidance and documentation; capable of training users and stakeholders.
Experience collaborating with vendors and cross-functional teams.
Base pay range
A$115,443.00/yr - A$125,832.00/yr
