**About the role**:
**This is a 12-month full-time contract position based at Icon Cancer Centre, Gold Coast.**

Perform a full range of duties related to scheduling patient procedures and ARIA for Radiation Oncology. Collaboration with patients, multidisciplinary team and referring facilities. Collaborate scheduling with GCHHS providers such as allied health and medical oncology, radiation therapists, nursing, and various other Gold Coast University Hospital departments involved in Radiation Oncology procedures.

The role includes the booking of patients Radiation Therapy simulation and treatment appointments, communicating with patients and relatives both face to face and on the phone & ensuring patients receive the appointments in a timely manner. The role requires the individual to meet the deadlines for appointments and waiting time targets, communicate well with all members of the multidisciplinary team, patients, and their relatives and to act in a professional, courteous manner at all times.

**Key responsibilities**:

- Primary oversight for radiation therapy schedule & bookings (reschedule, cancellations, blocking, labs, chemo, etc.)
- Assist patients as needed, such as obtaining wheelchairs, and directing patients to appropriate areas within the department.
- Routinely address patients/family members questions and concerns regarding medical procedures and policies within scope.
- Provide information to patients regarding preparation for radiation therapy simulation and other upcoming appointments under the direction of the radiation oncologist & radiation therapist.
- Schedule and document accurately in multiple EMR, billing, and computer systems.
- Assist with transportation communication and coordination with outside entities.
- Retrieve and scan patient records and forms into appropriate EMR systems
- Professional communication: answers the phone call, coordinates communication, provides information in accordance with established policies.
- Establish and maintain effective professional working relationships with internal and external customers.
- Provide and maintains patient confidentiality and follows all organisational policies and procedures.
- Other duties as requested by the RT manager, Admin Manager, Physics or Oncologists.

**_About You: _**
We are looking for someone with excellent communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team while also managing your own workload. The role requires a considerable amount of computer work using specialist Oncology systems eg. Aria. A knowledge of these systems would be an advantage, although training will be provided.
- Ability to provide positive services and interactions with both internal and external customers.
- Multi-tasker, detail -oriented, with the ability to keep up in a fast-paced environment, and adaptable to organisational changes.
- Prioritises work to ensure all details are addressed and complete documentation is entered into the system.
- Supports principles of continuous improvement with enthusiasm and energy.
- Strong computer, problem solving, and organizational skills.** **Word, Office, Excel & ability to learn new systems quickly.
- Ability to work within a team environment** **and independently as necessary.
- Excellent verbal communication, interpersonal, and telephone skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced medical clinic.

**_Education and Experience:_**
- High school graduate or equivalent
- Minimum 1 year of medical admin experience; Oncology preferred
