Build the growth engine behind one of Australia’s most ambitious premium truck brands Big Dog Builds is not a normal automotive business.
We build high-end American trucks for customers who want something bigger, better, more capable, and done properly. We sit at the premium end of the market, and we’re now at the point where marketing needs to become a true growth function, not a founder-operated one.
We’re looking for a
Head of Growth & Brand
to take ownership of the engine: content, lead generation, agency management, influencer strategy, digital performance, and the market-entry groundwork for the U.S.
This is a role for a
senior hands‑on operator
— someone who can set direction, build systems, lead suppliers, and still get into the detail when needed.
Why this role exists Our business has outgrown founder-led marketing.

engineering, R&D and workshop content that most brands would kill for
ambassadors and influencers already in-market
a serious U.S. expansion opportunity
What we need now is a leader who can turn all of that into a
repeatable, commercially accountable growth machine .
What you’ll own You’ll take full ownership of:
Growth and lead generation
qualified lead growth across Australia
campaign planning and performance
content-to-enquiry pathways
funnel visibility and marketing attribution
support for U.S. market‑entry positioning and launch preparation
Content and editorial
the editorial calendar
what gets filmed, when, and why
content planning across YouTube, Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, email and web
working with agencies/editors/creators to get content out consistently and at a high standard
ensuring our content supports revenue, not just reach
Digital and brand
website/CMS content rollout
landing pages and campaign pages
brand voice, visual consistency, and premium positioning
partnership and influencer strategy
performance reporting and weekly scorecards
What success looks like in the first 90 days By the end of your first 90 days, you will have:
stabilised the weekly content and growth operating rhythm
taken day‑to‑day content planning and publishing management off the founders
improved lead visibility and marketing scorecard reporting
presented a clear recommendation on the right agency / supplier model moving forward
built the first version of our U.S. launch marketing framework
What kind of person will do well here You do
not
need to come from the Australian 4x4 industry.
In fact, we think strong candidates will often come from adjacent sectors like:
caravan, RV, towing or marine
outdoor, adventure or premium equipment brands
high‑ticket lifestyle or DTC brands
industrial / dealer‑led businesses selling to affluent blue‑collar owner‑operators
What matters more is that you know how to:
own leads, not just awareness
build editorial and campaign systems from scratch
manage agencies, creators and production suppliers
work with sales teams and CRM funnels
balance premium brand work with hard commercial accountability
operate in a fast‑moving, founder‑led business
What you’ll bring
7+ years in senior marketing / growth roles
strong experience in lead generation and campaign ownership
experience leading agencies, production partners, or creator ecosystems
confidence with reporting, KPIs, and attribution
strong instinct for content, hooks, storytelling and channel fit
commercial maturity — you understand that marketing must drive qualified demand
