Job Opportunity
We are seeking an ambitious and highly motivated research professional to join our team as a Research Fellow. This is a fantastic opportunity for an emerging researcher to contribute to cutting-edge projects, develop their skills, and collaborate with industry partners.
The role involves working closely with senior researchers to deliver high-quality research outcomes, generate new ideas, and develop innovative solutions. As a Research Fellow, you will have the opportunity to work on various pre-treatments on microbial cellulose, focusing on its industrial scale use to produce manufactured cellulosic fibres and other applications.
You will be responsible for supporting and leading applications for external funding, communicating research outputs, and ensuring the impact of academic activity on the field and the community. Additionally, you will participate in intra- and inter-disciplinary research collaborations, build awareness of industry partners, and participate in opportunities for research partnerships.
To be successful, you'll need to have a PhD in a relevant field, such as materials or chemical engineering, polymer science, textile engineering, or another related discipline. You should also have direct experience with characterizing natural polymers, processing biopolymers, and spinning fibres. Proven experience in microbial cellulose generation, processing, and characterization is also essential.
A strong understanding of separation of trace elements absorbed by fibres, emerging research and scholarship through publications, and ability to contribute to communities through research are also required. Excellent interpersonal skills and a proven ability to establish good working relationships with colleagues are also necessary.
This is a full-time and fixed-term position for 12 months. The successful candidate will be offered a competitive salary and benefits package, including superannuation.
If you're passionate about research, innovation, and collaboration, and have a desire to make a real-world impact, we encourage you to apply for this exciting opportunity.
