Healthcare Assistant (Medical Receptionist)
We're on the lookout for a new receptionist (or as we call it, Healthcare Assistant) to join our vibrant team at The Garden Family Medical Clinic in Piara Waters. We are open to both part-time and full-time applicants and are looking for someone who shares our passion for people, healthcare and doing things differently.
About the Role
This role is all about providing friendly, welcoming support to our patients while helping keep the clinic running smoothly behind the scenes.
What You'll Be Doing
* Welcoming patients with empathy and professionalism — making them feel seen and heard
* Managing the appointment schedule using HotDoc and Best Practice (training will be provided)
* Answering patient enquiries and directing them to the right person
* Keeping patient information accurate and confidential
* Supporting the team with tasks such as scanning, filing, and data entry
* Helping our clinical team where needed – we work together and pitch in when it counts
What We're Looking For
* A warm, positive attitude and a genuine interest in people and healthcare
* Australian citizenship or permanent residency status is required
* A willingness to learn and grow – we'll teach you the rest
* Great communication skills – friendly, clear, and professional
* Previous customer service experience (medical reception is a bonus but not essential)
* A minimum of 6 months customer service experience is required
* Someone who is adaptable, calm under pressure, and patient – it can be busy at times
* Comfortable with computers and office software (Teams, Outlook, etc.)
* Bonus points for experience with Best Practice or in a medical clinic setting
* A respect for confidentiality and patient privacy
* Most importantly, someone who wants to make a difference in people's lives
* A current Working with Children Check is required at the start of employment

Our team includes amazing GPs, nurses, and allied health professionals – including psychology, podiatry, speech therapy, dietician and a nurse practitioner.
