Key Responsibilities
As a Specialty Cook at dnata Catering, you will play a vital role in delivering exceptional culinary experiences to our airline clients. Your focus will be on creating high-quality specialty dishes, collaborating closely with the culinary team to execute specialized recipes and techniques to meet client demands. Your creativity and attention to detail will ensure each dish is visually appealing, flavorful, and meets high standards. You will be responsible for designing menus for VIP clients, preparing gourmet dishes for first-class passengers, monitoring ingredient levels, ensuring proper storage, and adhering to food safety guidelines. Maintaining a clean and organized kitchen environment is also essential to our operations' efficiency and safety.

You Will
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Experience in producing high-volume, high-quality food from menus.
* Experience with various cooking duties – grilling, preparing sauces, etc.
* Operating a traditional Chinese cuisine tandoor oven, cooking items like meat and breads.
* Preparing Chinese cuisine curries, sauces, and desserts as per standards.
* Regulating temperatures of cooking equipment.
* Understanding traditional Chinese cuisine, including desserts.
* Ensuring proper preparation and presentation of dishes.
* Demonstrating tandoor techniques to staff if required.
* Storing food in temperature-controlled environments.
* Checking food supplies and advising on requirements.
* Knowledge of HACCP/GMP is a plus; must comply with food handling policies.
NONESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
* Other duties as assigned by management.
Compensation
DOE, $26.00 hourly with weekly pay. Compensation considers location, experience, qualifications, and training.
You Have
Education: Minimum of an Associate’s Degree or 2 years in culinary field or relevant experience.
Qualifications: Experience in Chinese cuisine, flexibility, formal food safety training, HACCP knowledge, attention to detail, ability to handle workload, flexibility for shifts, and valid food handler's certificate.
Additional Details
Position demands multitasking under time limits, constant attention to detail, attendance, punctuality, following instructions, and working quickly.
Physical demands include standing, walking, reaching, lifting up to 30 pounds, and working indoors with variable noise levels.
