About the team – The Security Operations Team are part of the Site Strategy and Facilities Branch in the AIS Operations Group. The Group manages all commercial operations, facilities management and the delivery of performance camps, sports camps and events and leads the Site Strategy Program.
The Security Team plays a key role in delivering the Site Strategy and Facilities Branch goals and objectives, including maintaining high quality facilities and specialised equipment, buildings, and office equipment in alignment with the strategic, capital and site strategies.
Security supports a 24/7 operation across multiple ASC sites including the AIS Bruce Campus and Yarralumla Rowing site. Key responsibilities include the physical, protective and electronic security controls to maintain a robust security environment for the protection of the ASC's official assets, resources, staff, NSO/NSODs, residents and visitors.
About the role – This newly commissioned role is critical in growing the ASC security footprint. You will lead the team responsible for the safety and security of athletes, residents, staff and visitors to AIS facilities. Working with teams across the AIS Operations Group, you will ensure the user experience and our training facilities are world class, helping our athletes to perform at their best.
In this role, working alongside our Agency Security Advisor, you will have the opportunity to grow our security capability, ensuring that our emergency and operational activities align with broader organisational governance and assurance processes.
We will also rely heavily on your input and expertise in the design and construction of the new facilities being delivered through the AIS Podium Project. You will ensure the appropriate physical security measures to meet PSPF compliance are factored into the build and working with the Project Team, you will be responsible for the safety of visitors, staff and athletes during the construction phase of works.
You will have the opportunity to travel, periodically visiting office sites in Sydney and Melbourne as well as training facilities on the Gold Coast. The role is an exciting opportunity to join the ASC during the Green and Gold Decade and make a meaningful contribution to future sporting success.
About you – We are looking for a security professional, with tertiary qualifications and/or demonstrated experience (minimum 5 years) in multi facility and/or campus style security.
The successful candidate will have:
* Excellent communication (verbal and written)
* Outstanding people management and persuasion skills
* Experience in project management, procurement and contract management
* Demonstrated understanding of the PSPF and experience in the development or improvement of security plans and policies
* Demonstrated experience in managing financial resources
