Department of Natural Resources and Environment Tasmania – Arthur River TAS
As Visitor Services Officer, you'll play a critical role in providing safe and enjoyable experiences for visitors in the remote and wild far northwest.
Responsibilities
* Provide safety messages and education about permitted and prohibited activities in reserves.
* Collect fees for camping and four‑wheel driving.
* Provide information and advice to visitors on recreational opportunities and features.
* Undertake office administration tasks, including stock maintenance and annual stocktake.
This position is based at the Arthur River Field Centre on Tasmania's Northwest Coast, a dramatic coastline dominated by parabolic dunes, rocky headlands, reefs, wild rivers and expansive beaches. The area is rich in Aboriginal heritage, pioneering history and unique endemic species, protected under state and federal legislation.
The role will be rostered fortnightly: 8 days on and 6 days off.
Candidate Requirements
* Strong communication and customer service skills.
* Experience in visitor services or tourism.
* Knowledge and understanding of administrative procedures.
* Able to work in remote locations.
