What You’ll Do:
You will carry out electrical repairs, maintenance and installations across Council’s vehicle fleet, heavy plant, agricultural plant and small plant. The role is grounded in professionalism, safe practices and a commitment to quality service—ensuring plant and equipment remain ready to serve the community each day.
You will:
* Deliver maintenance, diagnostics and repair work in line with environmental and WHS requirements.
* Apply strong technical knowledge of automotive electrical systems using modern diagnostic tools.
* Install, commission and maintain fleet accessories including GPS units and camera systems.
* Participate in improvement initiatives that enhance workshop efficiency and service outcomes.
What We’re Looking For:
* Certificate III in Automotive Electrical Technology.
* Current Queensland MR or ability to obtain.
* High Risk Work Forklift Licence or ability to obtain.
* Competencies in Confined Space and Working at Heights (or ability to obtain)
* Demonstrated auto electrician experience in the repair and maintenance of fleet, heavy plant and equipment.
* Awareness of Workplace Health & Safety Act and regulations applicable to the position.
* Demonstrated experience in vehicle and plant electronics.
* Ability to work as an effective member of a team.
* Demonstrated commitment to enhancing and supporting a positive workplace culture.
