Disability Support Role Overview
The Disability Support Worker role is a fulfilling opportunity to make a meaningful impact in the lives of individuals with disabilities. This dynamic position enables you to deliver compassionate care that prioritizes clients' goals, preferences, and independence.
As a key member of our team, you will provide essential support services, empowering individuals to live safely, confidently, and with dignity. Your responsibilities will include:
* Supporting clients with personal care and domestic assistance
* Promoting independence through skill-building and empowerment
* Assisting with transport, social participation, and community access
* Administering medication (if suitably qualified)
* Delivering short-term and respite care for families and carers
* Supporting clients with emotional, behavioural, mental health, and technology needs
Required Skills and Qualifications
To succeed in this role, you will need to possess relevant experience and qualifications, as well as strong communication and interpersonal skills. The following are the minimum requirements:
* Certificate III or above in Disability, Aged Care, Community Services, or a related field
* Minimum 12 months of relevant experience
* Valid First Aid and CPR certification
* Full working rights in Australia
* Commitment to person-centred care and client independence
