PROJECT ENGINEER –
Location: Ormeau, QLD Full‑time position
Southern Stainless Pty Ltd requires a Project Engineer to carry out routine engineering and project‑related duties associated with sheetmetal products and workshop operations. The role mainly involves reviewing internal processes, preparing technical documents, and assisting with general engineering tasks as directed.
The position includes activities such as examining existing workflows and team structures to understand how tasks are distributed, reviewing work practices to identify inefficiencies, and looking at production information to determine how labour and equipment are being utilized. The role also involves basic evaluation of workshop layouts and operational data to identify practical improvements where required.
Other tasks include contributing to the design of equipment, components, or products used in sheetmetal manufacturing; preparing technical details for production; and assisting with determining material requirements and layout considerations for workshop processes. The role may also involve coordinating labour or materials for smaller projects, following internal guidelines for installation or quality checks, and helping ensure routine inspection and maintenance activities occur as expected.
Additional responsibilities may include checking plant or equipment for adequate performance, noting where adjustments may be needed, and supporting internal teams with planning for new or updated systems. Standard administrative duties and routine documentation tasks will also be assigned. A Class C driver’s license and experience in sheetmetal product engineering are required.
