We are seeking a senior professional to lead the delivery of complex health and research projects in Papua New Guinea.
The successful candidate will have experience in project management, staff leadership, and stakeholder engagement. They will also possess knowledge of low-resource settings, cross-cultural collaboration, and non-communicable disease prevention.
This role involves providing strategic advice, coordinating project planning and implementation, and ensuring ethical compliance.
A tertiary qualification in a relevant field and minimum 5 years of experience in a similar role are required.

This opportunity is part of the Guunu-maana (Heal) Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health Program, which aims to improve the health and wellbeing of First Nations peoples through research and capacity-building.

Key Responsibilities:
• Provide leadership and guidance to project teams in PNG and Australia
• Support local capacity strengthening through mentoring and co-leadership approaches
• Represent the program in meetings and forums, championing culturally safe and respectful research practices.
• Establish and maintain systems to track project progress and outcomes.
• Lead or support ethics submissions and ensure ongoing approvals in PNG and Australia.
