Fremantle Ports is an AusCheck issuing body authorised by the Australian Government to request AusCheck background checks for individuals. The Security Service Centre (SSC) is responsible for confirming eligibility and verifying identity, submitting AusCheck applications, and acting on background check outcomes. Where authorised, the SSC issues Maritime Security Identification Cards (MSICs) based on those results. In addition to its issuing body responsibilities, the SSC manages port wide access control, including visitor management and the issuance of all Fremantle Ports access cards.
The Security Service Centre team comprises one supervisor and five Issuing Officers. It currently operates one office in Fremantle with a plan to expand to a second office in Kwinana by mid-2026.
Role Highlights
The Security Service Centre Supervisor is responsible for coordinating the Security Service Centre and the processing of Port Access Cards and Maritime Security Identification Card applications.
The SSC Supervisor will also manage the Security Service Centre's Day to day business functions including outcome delivery, resourcing, budgeting, procurement and provision of high-quality customer service.
Reporting directly to the Chief Security Officer, this role will work closely with the Security and Operations Teams.
What Makes You a Great Fit
The successful candidate will possess experience in managing and leading teams while also having an aptitude for using security programs and systems used throughout the SSC. This role requires a person with strong people management skills and compliance understanding to ensure all activities meet regulatory and organisational standards.
You will conduct staff performance reviews, regular audits, maintain accurate documentation, and implement corrective actions where necessary. The ability to prioritise work to support ongoing projects, collaborating with stakeholders and identifying opportunities for continuous improvement are qualities all highly regarded to be successful in this role.

* Effective conflict resolution skills.
* Preparedness to work flexible hours to ensure the success of the Security Service Centre.

* Current MSIC holder
* Experience with Security systems.
