Risk & Assurance Specialist
Based in Tasmania, Australia, this mid-level role is part of TasWater's Risk & Assurance team.

The Risk & Assurance Specialist is responsible for delivering risk and assurance activities within TasWater, ensuring the integrity and reliability of internal controls, risk management processes, and governance and compliance programs. Hor responsibilities include:
* Lead and deliver internal risk management and assurance activities to support TasWater's strategic objectives and risk appetite.
* Conduct risk assessments to identify potential risks, control weaknesses, and improvements.
* Collaborate with internal stakeholders to foster a risk-aware culture and drive continuous improvement across all business functions.
* Assist the Risk Manager in coordinating and managing internal audits, tracking implementation of audit recommendations, and ensuring timely closure.
* Assist the Risk Manager in managing TasWater's insurance program and insurance claims processes as required.
* Prepare reports for the Board, Executive Leadership Team, Senior Management, and relevant stakeholders.

We seek a proactive, detail-oriented Risk and Assurance Specialist with strong analytical skills, sound judgement, and a passion for improving organisational performance. The ideal candidate has:
* A solid understanding of risk management, internal controls, governance, and compliance frameworks.
* Experience conducting assurance activities and risk assessments in a regulated industry.
* Professional qualifications and substantial proven experience in internal audit, risk management, or assurance roles.
* Strong collaboration skills and the ability to build working relationships across teams and functions.
* Capability to coordinate and oversee internal and external audits and to address findings through improvement action plans.
* Excellent communication skills, communicating risk insights and assurance outcomes clearly to stakeholders.

This role can be based in Hobart, Launceston, or Devonport.
