The Organisation

Lhere Artepe Aboriginal Corporation (LAAC) is the Registered Native Title Body Corporate for the Central Arrernte people of Mparntwe/Alice Springs. LAAC represents the three traditional estates of the region and works to protect cultural heritage, strengthen community outcomes and create opportunities for Arrernte families.

As an Aboriginal community-controlled organisation, LAAC delivers programs that support social, cultural and economic wellbeing across Central Australia. Our work is grounded in cultural authority and guided by strong relationships with local families, community partners and government agencies.

The Opportunity

This is a chance to step into a leadership role that has real community impact every day. As the Assertive Outreach Program Coordinator, you will guide a dedicated outreach team to support people experiencing chronic homelessness and strengthen culturally safe responses across Alice Springs. You will shape how the program operates, build strong relationships with Aboriginal community-controlled organisations and service partners, and help create practical pathways to housing, health care and stability for some of the most vulnerable community members in Central Australia. This role offers genuine responsibility, space to grow your leadership and the opportunity to contribute to meaningful change on the ground.

About You

* Driven by purpose and motivated to create real change for people experiencing homelessness
* Calm and steady under pressure with a practical approach to problem solving
* Skilled at building trust, communicating clearly and maintaining strong relationships
* Confident leading a team and creating a supportive, safe and accountable work environment
* Comfortable working in culturally diverse settings with a strong commitment to cultural safety
* Organised, proactive and able to navigate complex service systems with ease
* Willing to step in on the ground when needed to support staff and clients
* Looking for a leadership role where impact, growth and meaningful work come together

Essential

* Qualification in Social Work, Community Services, Health or a related field or equivalent experience
* Experience in assertive outreach homelessness services or housing support
* Strong understanding of cultural safety and experience working with Aboriginal communities
* Proven team leadership and staff supervision capability
* Effective communication skills and confidence engaging with diverse stakeholders
* Ability to manage data systems, reporting requirements and program compliance
* NT driver licence and the ability to obtain relevant clearances

Desirable

* Experience living or working in remote or Central Australian communities
* An up-to-date First Aid qualification will be considered favourably
* Knowledge of trauma-informed practice, harm minimisation and Housing First principles
* Experience with program evaluation funding, compliance and continuous improvement
* Proficiency with SHIP and willingness to learn systems such as Supportlink
* Strong familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite

* Base salary of $105,000 + Super + Salary Sacrifice (Review after Probation)
