This is a permanent part-time (0.4FTE) position commencing Term 3, 2026

North Perth Primary School (PS) is an inner-city public school, established in 1899 with a long and vibrant history. It's this connection with its past, along with the enthusiasm and energy of the current students, staff and parents, that makes North Perth PS a dynamic school community. The original school motto Honour, Loyalty and Duty is today understood as our values of Respect, Resilience, Responsibility and Inclusivity.

Many outstanding students have attended North Perth Primary School. Our honour boards record the names of two Rhodes Scholars, and many high-profile members of the arts, legal and sporting communities. The school is regularly visited by former students who share their fond memories with the students and staff.

The Role

As Library Officer you will be responsible for the day-to‐day operations of the library, provision of reference information and maintaining the environment and associated services of the school library to support the learning outcomes of students. You will administer the library systems ensuring library records are up to date and library resources are maintained and processed so they are always accessible and available to students and staff.

Library Officers should possess outstanding customer service skills to provide library support for our school community, our leadership team and staff. You will work in partnership with staff to create a welcoming and vibrant library environment for students and families. A love of books and a sound understanding of library systems, processes and stocktakes will be highly desirable.

The Library Officer will also assist students, parents and staff in selecting program‐ and age‐appropriate materials. You may also assist with stocktaking, monitoring the library budget and contributing to recommendations for new library resources.
