We are a well-established accounting and advisory firm launching an in-house insurance division to better support our growing client base. Working closely with the Director, this role offers a rare opportunity to shape a new business unit backed by an existing, active client network.
About the Role
This is not a “start from scratch” role. You will have access to a large, engaged client base and consistent referral flow, allowing you to focus on building relationships and delivering value rather than cold prospecting.
You’ll work directly with the Director to design, implement, and scale the insurance offering as part of a broader, integrated advisory service.
Key Responsibilities:
* Establish and grow the firm’s insurance division
* Work closely with the Director on strategy and execution
* Service and advise an existing client base with ongoing referral opportunities
* Develop tailored insurance solutions across SME/commercial clients
* Build and manage insurer relationships
* Ensure compliance with all regulatory and licensing requirements
Licensing & Structure:
* The firm is committed to establishing an independent Australian Financial Services Licence (AFSL) for the insurance division
* You will work closely with the Director to support the AFSL application process and help design the licensing and compliance framework and will step into Responsible Manager role (subject to experience)
* Full support will be provided across compliance, systems, and business setup with the team being built out with the director
* Candidates with prior experience in AFSL applications, compliance frameworks, or operating under their own licence will be highly regarded
About You:
* Proven experience as an Insurance Broker
* Strong commercial/SME insurance knowledge
* RG146/tier 1 compliant (or equivalent)
* Strong understanding of compliance and regulatory requirements
