Symons Clark Logistics is a 150-year-old, family owned, Port Adelaide based transport and logistics company. Our experience brings with it premium wharf cartage and container transport services, with a focus on providing customers with complete logistics solutions including warehousing, container pack/unpack, distribution, over-dimensional, heavy haulage, project logistics and Australia wide bulk haulage.

The Financial Controller is responsible for the end-to-end financial control of the organisation, ensuring accurate reporting, compliance, and effective cash management. This is a critical leadership role that supports strategic decision-making and drives operational efficiency across the business.

Overseeing shared services including Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, and Payroll, the Financial Controller plays a key part in leading the Finance Team, mentoring talent, and building strong business partnerships. The role also contributes to digital transformation initiatives and the successful integration of finance systems and processes.

What you will be doing…

* Leading, mentoring, and developing a collaborative and high-performing Finance Team.
* Delivering timely and accurate financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management.
* Providing financial insights and modelling to support strategic planning and business decisions.
* Maintaining robust internal controls, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
* Driving continuous improvement in finance processes, systems, and reporting capabilities.
* Partnering cross-functionally with operational leaders to align financial performance with business goals.
* Managing external audits and ensuring the integrity of financial systems and data.

Do you have…

* Proven experience in a Financial Controller or senior finance leadership role.
* CA or CPA qualified, with strong technical accounting knowledge.
* Skilled in financial reporting, planning, and analysis in fast-paced or complex environments.
* Strong leadership and communication skills, able to influence both finance and non-finance stakeholders.
* Proficiency in Excel and financial modelling, with exposure to finance systems and transformation projects.
* High level of professional integrity, sound judgement, and the ability to manage competing deadlines.
* Adaptable, self-motivated, and collaborative in a growing and evolving business.
