Financial Controller – Darwin Ford | Subaru | BMW
$130,000 - $170,000 + super per annum depending on experience
An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced Financial Controller to join a leading, multi-franchise automotive dealership in Darwin.
This dealership is the only Ford, Subaru and BMW operation in Darwin, operating from a recently redeveloped facility and representing Ford — one of Australia's highest-volume automotive brands.
This role is suited to a hands-on, commercially minded finance leader who enjoys being close to the business, owning the numbers, and supporting operational leaders through clear, practical financial insight.
The Role
Reporting to the Group Financial Controller and working closely with the Dealer Principal and General Manager of Operations, you will be responsible for the financial stewardship of the dealership while acting as a trusted business partner to the leadership team.
Key responsibilities include:
Full P&L ownership and financial control
Monthly reporting, forecasting and budgeting
Working capital and cash flow management
Inventory, floorplan and debtor oversight
Providing commercial insight to support operational decision-making
Supporting senior management with clear, practical financial analysis
Ensuring compliance with group, audit and OEM requirements
Leading and developing the on-site finance team
About You
You are an experienced Financial Controller or Senior Management Accountant who:
Is confident managing complex operational businesses
Is comfortable supporting and challenging senior stakeholders
Has a practical, down-to-earth leadership style
Understands the balance between financial discipline and operational realities
Is focused on improving performance and supporting sustainable growth
Automotive or retail experience is desirable but not essential.
CA / CPA qualification is preferred.
