Volunteer Opportunity: Paddle Out 2025 Unite for Healing and Harmony
Paddle Out 2025 is a nationwide movement uniting ocean lovers across Australia and now across the world to raise awareness of domestic violence and bring hope and healing to youth and families impacted by it. Hosted by Spirited Foundation Limited, this event connects communities through the ocean, music, and collective action. On December 6th, 2025, thousands will join together to paddle out from beaches across the country and around the globe, including our newest international location: San Cristóbal, Galápagos, Ecuador.
About Spirited Foundation Limited
Spirited Foundation is a not-for-profit organisation dedicated to building better futures for the youth of today. Through nature-based and ocean therapy programs, community outreach, and awareness events, we support young people impacted by domestic violence to reconnect, rebuild, and rise. Founded by Sam Hilton, who has lived experience of domestic violence and a lifelong connection to the ocean, Spirited Foundation Ltd believes healing begins with community and that every ripple of kindness can create a wave of change.
Volunteer Role: Event Support Crew Paddle Out 2025
Key Duties
* Event setup and pack‑down: Assisting with tents, signage, equipment, and site organisation.
* Participant registration: Welcoming paddlers, managing check‑ins, distributing wristbands and safety information.
* Beach coordination: Directing participants, supporting the water safety team, and keeping the event area safe and inclusive.
* Community engagement: Helping with the BBQ, merch table, and crowd interaction to create a welcoming, positive atmosphere.
* Media and storytelling: Capturing photos, videos, and quotes for social media to share the spirit of the event.
* Sustainability and clean‑up: Ensuring the beach and surrounding areas remain clean and protected.
Skills and Experience
No formal experience required – just enthusiasm, teamwork, and reliability. However, the following will be highly valued:
* Event or customer service experience.
* Surfing, paddling, or water safety background.
* Media, photography, or content creation skills.
* A calm, friendly attitude and ability to work well under pressure.
* Passion for community, environment, and social change.
All volunteers will receive a short pre‑event briefing and orientation.
