As a family-owned and operated business with operations across Kwinana Beach, Kalgoorlie, and South West WA, Flex Industries is continuing to grow and is seeking experienced, motivated, and safety-focused Heavy Vehicle Diesel Mechanics for immediate start positions.
You’ll join a supportive team delivering mechanical and auto-electrical services across a diverse fleet of light vehicles, heavy vehicles, trailers, and mobile equipment, with optional field service work available throughout regional WA.
About the Role
Reporting to the Workshop Leading Hand, your responsibilities will include:
* Diagnosing, repairing, servicing, and maintaining trucks, trailers, buses, and diesel/mobile equipment
* Carrying out fault-finding and troubleshooting efficiently within required timeframes
* Performing preventative maintenance and breakdown repairs
* Identifying and reporting safety, maintenance, or operational issues
* Maintaining accurate service records and job documentation
* Working safely and complying with company and site procedures
* Supporting the wider maintenance team as required
Essential Skills & Experience
To be successful in this role, you will have:
* Certificate III in Heavy Vehicle Mechanical Technology (or equivalent)
* Minimum 3 years post-trade experience in heavy vehicle or road transport maintenance
* Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting abilities
* Ability to work autonomously and within a team environment
* Current C-Class Driver’s Licence (HR and DG licences highly regarded)
* Strong communication and organisational skills
* Commitment to safety and quality workmanship
* Ability to pass pre-employment medical and drug & alcohol screening
* Valid Australian working rights (including eligible work visas)
Desirable Experience
Highly regarded but not essential:
* Electrical diagnostic experience
* Hydraulic systems experience
* Welding and fabrication skills
* Field service or breakdown experience
