Overview
The Team: The Child and Youth Mental Health Service (CYMHS) is expanding to increase access to mental health care for Tasmanians. The Neurodevelopmental Assessment and Management Clinician (Occupational Therapist or Speech Pathologist) is a new role with scope to work across CYMHS programs, delivering high‐quality mental health assessments, interventions and outcomes for consumers and their communities. The role is part of a small unit within the CYMHS Extended Programs, which includes Out-of-Home Care Mental Health, Youth Forensic Mental Health and Youth Mental Health.
The Role: The Allied Health Professional – Neurodevelopmental Assessment and Management Clinician (Occupational Therapist or Speech Pathologist) works collaboratively within a multidisciplinary environment undertaking a variety of evidence‐based assessments across multiple CYMHS program areas. The role works closely with stakeholders, including consumers and their care teams, to understand presenting issues and develop and deliver appropriate treatment options. The role may also work with other mental health professionals, service providers, or other partners on research projects and quality improvement initiatives.

Minimum requirements / Qualifications
* Two years post‐registration supervised experience in a clinical area directly applicable to Child and Youth Mental Health Services, with demonstrated experience and skill in providing assessment and case management to children and adolescents with significant mental health challenges.
* Demonstrated knowledge, experience and skill in either contemporary Occupational Therapy or Speech Pathology practice with children and adolescents, including evidence‐based assessments and therapeutic interventions.
* High level interpersonal, negotiation and conflict resolution skills including experience liaising with other services and agencies in the context of providing either specialised Occupational Therapy or Speech Pathology mental health assessment, advice and training.
* Registered with the Occupational Therapy Board of Australia; or tertiary qualification accredited by Speech Pathology Australia and eligibility for membership of SPA; full member of SPA; current Working with Children Registration.
Desirable criteria
* Minimum of 2 years post graduate experience in a role relevant to the position.
* Postgraduate qualification or progress towards one relevant to the role.
* Certified practicing member of SPA.
* Current Driver's Licence.
Salary, benefits and conditions
* Salary: $117,272 to $126,182 per annum (pro rata). Employer 12% superannuation contribution included.
* Salary Packaging: access to salary packaging benefits including living expenses up to $9,010 plus $2,650 in meal entertainment per FBT year, and other eligible benefits.
* Allowances: access to allowances subject to qualifications and/or progression to upgrade schemes; Professional Development Allowance up to $1,000 per annum; other allowances calculated on the salaried incremental point as applicable.
* Benefits: travel and relocation assistance up to $15,000 for overseas appointees and up to $10,000 for interstate appointees, professional development opportunities, study leave and other leave entitlements, Fitness Passport (40+ facilities for family options).
Appointment details
* Permanent part‐time day worker position, 30 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible.
* Role may be based in North or Northwest Tasmania.
