Working closely with the Managing Director of an SME technology business, you will be responsible for the sales & marketing function and developing the sales strategy.

Selling into the Defence and Marine industries.
Based from Southampton with some travel across the UK to customer sites.
Salary guide: £55,000 - £65,000 (approximate guideline and will still need defining).
We are recruiting for a Sales Manager position within an established SME that provides a range of navigation and communication systems to naval units.
There is excellent headroom and progression opportunities within the business; this role is expected to develop into a senior leader / director level position in the future.
Responsibilities Oversee and manage the Sales & Marketing function in collaboration with the Managing Director to develop the overall strategy.
Develop new business through existing customer accounts and win new customers in new markets.
Lead the sales process (not direct management of a team) and maintain strong customer relationships.
Possess or develop experience in the Defence or Marine sector with electronics or communication systems used in naval units (e.g., navigation systems, CCTV, radar, etc.).
Based within a commutable distance of Southampton with some travel; primarily based in Southampton or surrounding areas.
Shape the company's strategy and future growth within the defence industry, with potential for senior leadership progression.
Operate in an agile environment within an SME and contribute to a varied role.
Support a range of projects and travel to client sites to grow the customer base.
Qualifications Experienced sales professional, e.g., Technical Sales Manager, Sales Engineer, Business Development Manager or similar.
Ideally some experience in Defence or Marine sectors and familiarity with related electronics or communication systems used in naval units.
Engineering or technical knowledge is beneficial.
Based within a commutable distance of Southampton with willingness to travel.
