We encourage people of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander background and people with disability to apply.About the roleAs a Therapeutic Specialist you will coordinate and deliver high quality assessment, consultive and referral services to support the development for Children & Young People in our care have backgrounds of complex trauma, abuse and/or neglect, and in some cases physical and/or psychosocial disabilities requiring support. You will also deliver specialist support to our care teams through therapeutic supervision, practice support and leading reflective practice sessions.This is a 12 month-maximum term contract 4 days per week in Dubbo with flexible hybrid working arrangements.Key ResponsibilitiesLead therapeutic assessments and planning through comprehensive assessments and Positive Behaviour Support PlansDevelop, review and support implementation of relevant therapeutic support plans, such as Positive Behaviour Support PlansProvide therapeutic expertise and guidance to support managers with reflective practice, and facilitate the development of effective strategies to prevent and respond to pain-based behaviour for young peopleDevelop a thorough working knowledge of the CARE and Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (TCI) models to deliver training as requiredAdvocate and lead ethical, evidence-informed therapeutic practice, in alignment with legislation, professional standards, organisational policy and the CARE and Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (TCI) models, for all children and young people within the program.Proactively engage and collaborate with relevant internal and external stakeholdersSkills & ExperienceTertiary qualifications in Psychology, Social Work, Occupational Therapy, Mental Health Nursingor other related discipline.Current registration or eligibility for registration with the professional body relevant to your qualification.Experience using evidence-based assessment tools with young people with trauma informed behaviourCurrent Driver’s LicenceSuccessful candidates will be required to clear probity checks including National Criminal History Record Check and Working with Children Check.Based in Dubbo with flexible hybrid working arrangementsGenerous Salary Packaging Benefits – claim up to $15,900 per year, tax free!Monthly RDO + access to fitness passportHow to ApplyInclude your resume and covering letter in one document, click ‘Apply’ and follow the prompts.
