Our federal government client has initiated a significant transformation program designed to address the preliminary recommendations handed down by the Royal Commission into Defence and Veteran Suicide.
Through its delivery, the Program will significantly improve the capability and interoperability of systems and processes. To support the implementation of the Program, the department has formed a new delivery team within the CIO Branch. Engaging across the department and externally, this team will be responsible for the delivery of key sub-program components under the initial phases of the Program.
This position is a outstanding an opportunity for a highly capable and self-motivated **Contract and Procurement Manager** to join the team and make a significant and meaningful contribution to the lives of veterans and the broader Defence community. As the Contract and Procurement Manager, you will be responsible for managing all aspects of contracts and procurement activities within the program.
You will play a critical role in ensuring the successful delivery of contracts and procurement processes, while ensuring compliance with both DVA and whole of government policies and procedures. This position requires strong negotiation skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
**Skills and experience we are looking for**:
- Demonstrated experience in contract management and procurement, preferably within large-scale programs or system integration projects.
- Proven experience and comfort writing for executive audiences, including briefs and reports.
- Strong understanding of procurement methodologies, including competitive bidding, supplier evaluation, and contract administration.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
- Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Detail-oriented with exceptional organisational and time management skills.
- Proficiency in contract management and procurement software tools.
- Knowledge of contract law, procurement best practices, and relevant regulations.
- Proven experience in managing complex contracts and agreements.
