About The Role
Join the Counselling Team within the Children, Young People and Families Service in a rewarding temporary opportunity based at Forster Community Health. This role offers flexibility to work across the Lower Mid-North Coast, supporting the counselling needs of children, young people, and their families.
You'll collaborate closely with colleagues and a broader multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality, person-centred care.
What You'll Be Doing
Provide safe, compassionate, and evidence-based assessment and interventions
Deliver person-centred care and therapeutic support
Contribute to health promotion and education initiatives
Participate in multidisciplinary clinics within the service
See clients across a variety of settings, including:
Community Health
Client homes
Schools
Community locations

Who We're Looking For
We're seeking a compassionate and skilled professional who is passionate about improving outcomes for children, young people, and families. You'll bring:
Experience or interest in child, youth, and family counselling
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work both independently and within a multidisciplinary team
Commitment to evidence-based, person-centred practice
Requirements
Social Workers - must hold as a minimum a bachelor's degree in social work which provides eligibility for membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW)
Psychologists – must hold a four-year degree in psychology, being a three-year degree with a fourth-year honours in psychology, or a qualification deemed equivalent by the employer, and be registered (general) or eligible for registration as a Psychologist with the Psychology Board of Australia via AHPRA.

Additional Information
To be eligible for employment in this position you must be an Australian Citizen, or permanent resident of Australia, or a New Zealand citizen with a current New Zealand Passport, or hold an appropriate visa that allows you to live and work in Australia.
