Job Description
This Senior Front End Engineer position is a pivotal opportunity to drive a major initiative: revolutionising the design system and improve the user experience (UX) across our product suite.
You will hold a central position in shaping ELMO's frontend infrastructure by collaborating with key key product teams to build new web platform features for our 2,000+ customers.
Key Responsibilities:
The core responsibilities of the Senior Front End Engineer include but are not limited to:
- Customer-centric, and considerate of the product and its intent for end users.
- Primarily working directly with product squads to accelerate their frontend development.
- Creating and improving components, foundations and patterns within ELMO’s design system.
- Contributing to the development and maintenance of ELMO’s frontend framework.
- Create champion code examples and serve as a mentor to other engineers.
- Supporting and mentoring teammates to overcome obstacles, resolve blockers, and complete tasks.
- Developing in compliance with accessibility (A11y) standards and ELMO’s inclusivity, privacy and security policies and procedures.
- Drafting and maintaining comprehensive documentation on technical patterns and guidelines to empower product squads.
- Collaborating with the Design team to create user centric designs.
- Ensure compliance with ELMO’s information security privacy policies and procedures.
- Actively increasing your direct team's effectiveness and work quality through mentoring.

Positional Qualifications, Attributes and Skills:
- Strong understanding of JavaScript and React frameworks.
- Solid understanding of frontend software development for the browser environment; User-Centric Design, Responsive Design, Accessibility, Performance Optimization, Scalability and Maintainability.
- Advanced knowledge of Typescript and coding patterns.
- Solid appreciation for shipping sleek, user friendly experiences.
- Experience utilising or developing Design Systems is desirable.
- Experience working in an Agile development environment.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a cross-functional team environment
