Position Summary:
As the Assistant Human Resources Manager, you will support the Director of Human Resources in delivering all facets of HR operations. You will help create an environment where our Associates thrive, uphold our brand standards and embody Marriott's commitment to excellence.
Your scope includes HR strategy, employee relations, recruitment, training, culture, safety, payroll support and the continuous improvement of people systems and processes. You will carry out your responsibilities with professionalism, confidentiality and a dedication to service excellence.
Strategic HR Leadership
* Support HR planning aligned to business goals.
* Advise leaders and drive cultural and organisational improvements.
* Implement Marriott HR programs and initiatives.
Employee & Industrial Relations
* Assist with compliance across all employment laws.
* Support union matters, award interpretation, and enterprise agreements.
* Manage grievances, absenteeism, return‑to‑work cases and disciplinary processes.
* Support performance management and talent development programs.
Coaching, Training & Development
* Coach Department Heads on HR practices.
* Facilitate training sessions and support development programs.
* Lead engagement and culture‑building activities.
Health, Safety & Wellbeing
* Ensure compliance with OH&S legislation.
* Participate in safety committees, audits and Associate wellbeing initiatives.
* Manage workers compensation and injury management processes.
Recruitment & Employer Branding
* Develop recruitment strategies and oversee hiring processes.
* Support senior-level recruitment and maintain external talent pipelines.
* Use Marriott systems effectively.
Compensation, Benefits & Payroll Support
* Assist with total rewards, recognition and incentive programs.
* Benchmark benefits and ensure payroll accuracy and compliance.
* Support headcount planning and labour cost management.
Policies, Procedures & Compliance
* Maintain and communicate HR policies and job documentation.
* Ensure compliance with corporate standards and local labour laws.
* Uphold EEO, anti-discrimination and workplace conduct policies.
Culture, Communication & Community
* Promote Marriott Core Values and TakeCare initiatives.
* Facilitate regular communication forums and Associate meetings.
* Represent the hotel with agencies, schools and external partners.
HR Department Operations
* Support daily HR operations and manage HR team workload.
* Maintain confidentiality and uphold Marriott's Code of Conduct.
* Support performance reviews, career pathing and departmental improvements.
* Contribute to achieving HR Balanced Scorecard goals.

* A confident HR professional with strong communication and coaching skills.

* Skilled in employee relations, recruitment, compliance and HR systems.
