Job Description
Location: Geraldton Port
Roster: 4 Days, 4 Nights, 4 Off
Hourly Rate: $47.00 per hour + Superannuation
Shift Hours: 12 Hours
Type: Full-Time Permanent
We are looking for a dependable and safety-focused Industrial Cleaner to join our team at an iron ore mining site. The role involves maintaining high standards of cleanliness and hygiene across a large-scale, heavy industrial operation, including fixed plant areas, workshops, amenities, and remote facilities. The successful candidate will contribute to the safe, efficient, and environmentally responsible running of the mine.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
* Perform scheduled and ad hoc cleaning of iron ore processing facilities, conveyor systems, load-out areas, in port and Ruvidini inland port facility.
* Maintain workshops, vehicles cleanliness, vehicle bays, crib rooms.
* Conduct high-pressure cleaning of heavy mobile equipment (HME) and fixed plant machinery in line with safety procedures.
* Manage cleaning around iron ore dust zones and adhere to site-specific dust suppression protocols.
* Safely operate industrial cleaning equipment including pressure washers, floor scrubbers, sweepers, and vacuums.
* Handle chemical cleaning agents safely, with full compliance to MSDS and PPE requirements.
* Support environmental controls by ensuring cleaning waste, hydrocarbon spills, and contaminated materials are handled correctly.
* Complete cleaning logs, hazard reports, and routine inspections as per the site's safety management system
Required Skills & Experience
* Previous experience in industrial or mine site cleaning, ideally within iron ore or similar heavy mining environments.
* Strong knowledge of dust control, cleaning in ore-handling areas, and managing iron-rich residues.
* Physically capable of working in hot, dusty, and remote conditions.
* Ability to work independently and follow site-specific cleaning procedures and rosters.
Qualifications
* White Card - Construction Induction
* Working at Heights (conveyor cleaning)
* Manual Driver's License C Class
* Confined Space Entry (cleaning tanks, crushers & sumps)
* Forklift Ticket
* Skid Steer Ticket (or experience preferred)
