Receive and review applications for financial assistance in readiness for assessment 2 x Fixed-term, full-time opportunities until 31 December 2026 VPS Grade 3: $79,122 - $96,073 plus superannuation About Us: This is an exciting opportunity to deliver a major new initiative for victims of crime. The Financial Assistance Scheme (FAS) is a landmark reform that replaced the judicially based Victims of Crime Assistance Tribunal with an administrative scheme that prioritises the needs of victims and supports their recovery from violent crime. The FAS represents a major leap forward in the government's response to victims of crime. Established under the Victims of Crime (Financial Assistance Scheme) Act 2022 the FAS provides financial assistance through a simple and easy to navigate process that is fair, sensitive, and responsive to victims' needs. About the Role: Reporting to the FAS Intake and Triage Supervisor, you will review FAS applications to ensure they are ready for the FAS assessment team to action. You will have direct contact with victims and their support people to ensure applications are complete. The role of a FAS Intake and Triage Officer: Receives and reviews applications for financial assistance in readiness for assessment. Determines priority and complexity of applications. Makes interim decisions on urgent applications. Reviewing and processing payments of authorised future expenses. Plays a key role in delivering an inclusive, trauma informed and victim focused service. About You: The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate: An understanding of family violence and risk assessment. The ability to be agile to change.
