The Alluvium Group
The Alluvium Group brings together five organisations that share a common purpose: to make a difference to the world in which we live.
Our businesses share a collective vision, strategy and a commitment to client service. Our business model is unique and driven by a genuine belief that technical depth and excellence allows us to provide a better service to our clients.
We also believe this focus on excellence is essential when bringing together teams to work on complex, multidisciplinary problems. Our project teams commonly involve staff from across the group in addition to external partners from research or other organisations.
We also harness the resources of the whole group where it adds value, such as jointly investing in the Group's R&D program, which aims to give back to the industry and to ensure that the latest science has a path to implementation.
We are employee owned and intend to remain that way. Approximately 45% of the Group's 120 staff are shareholders. Internally we are focussed on an enabling culture that removes barriers to creativity and encourages our staff to develop as leaders in our industry.
We are B Corp certified, carbon neutral and are actively delivering our Reconciliation Action Plan.
Alluvium Consulting
Alluvium Consulting is the original company in the Group. We were founded in 2006 to provide advice to government and private organisations on issues facing our water resources, rivers and catchments.
Our focus is catchments to coasts. We aim to influence the direction of catchment and water management in Australia through our work with federal, state and regional government and private sector clients in the resources and development sectors.
We have made significant contributions to water resources management at national, Murray-Darling Basin, state and local level, and our expertise and approach is sought out by clients. We believe strongly in listening to community, industry and stakeholders, and we are committed to respect, acknowledgement and reconciliation with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
We work hard to differentiate our business and believe it is possible for a commercial organisation to measure its success by things other than profit alone, as our B Corp certification recognises. Our success is measured by:
* Impact of our work on communities and environment – our people are motivated by achieving outcomes
* The value we create - for our staff and shareholders
* Our culture – we want to both provide opportunities, enjoyment and support our people
We invest heavily in an enabling culture in order to remove barriers to creativity and encourage people to develop as leaders throughout our business. We consistently achieve client and staff satisfaction ratings well above the norm for the professional services industry and measure these as part of our core business.
We currently work across offices in Melbourne, Sydney, Adelaide, Canberra, Brisbane, Townsville, and Bangalow as well as having smaller presences in Darwin, Hobart, Perth, Geelong, Ballarat and New Delhi. We share our physical offices with other companies in the Alluvium Group.
