You will be responsible for providing high-level technical expertise in automation troubleshooting, maintenance, and improvement of control systems within the fruit packing facility. This specialist ensures efficient operation and minimal downtime across fruit handling, conveying, sorting, and packing equipment .
Additionally, the role plays a critical part in the CAPEX upgrade project, specifically reinstalling and commissioning computing equipment in the newly established control room.
About the Role
* Strong knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems, including motors, PLCs, and automation controls;
* Experience with hydraulic and pneumatic systems;
* Ability to read technical manuals, schematics, and blueprints;
* Proficiency in using diagnostic tools and maintenance software;
* Problem-solving and analytical thinking;
* Strong communication and teamwork skills;
* Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple priorities;

* Ability to work in a packhouse environment with exposure to varying temperatures, humidity, and noise levels;
* Ability to stand, walk, and perform manual tasks for extended periods; and
* Availability for shift work, weekends, and emergency call-outs as needed.
About You
* Diploma or degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Industrial Automation, Industrial Communications Technologies, or a related field;
* Minimum 3-5 years of experience working with agricultural, food processing, or packhouse equipment;
* Certification in electrical or mechanical maintenance is a plus;
* Experience with food safety standards and HACCP principles is beneficial; and
* Familiarity with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) is preferred.
