Purpose of the role

Driven by our purpose of helping our customers and communities thrive, NGM Group proudly delivers customer-owned banking to more than 600,000 Australians under the Greater Bank and Newcastle Permanent brands. The Partnership Engagement Specialist supports both Newcastle Permanent and Greater Charitable Foundations, helping to elevate their visibility, strengthen partnerships, and amplify the positive, lasting impact our Foundations have created since 2003 and 2011 respectively. This role plays a key part in delivering impactful, purpose-led initiatives that align with NGM Group's strategic objectives.

The role encompasses end-to-end relationship management, including tracking and reporting on partnership impact, ensuring compliance and risk management, leading communications and content development, and supporting key projects and cross-functional initiatives.

Balancing strategic thinking with operational delivery, the Partnership Engagement Specialist maximises community impact, strengthens brand trust, and enhances both the employee and partner experience. By working closely with internal teams and external partners, this role brings our philanthropic purpose to life and showcases the meaningful outcomes delivered across our programs.

What will your key responsibilities include?

* Act as the primary liaison between the Charitable Foundations and partners, delivering a consistent, professional, and collaborative partnership experience.
* Build and maintain collaborative relationships across NGM Group to support effective and timely delivery of Foundation initiatives.
* Ensure all partnership commitments are fulfilled, risks are managed, and compliance and governance obligations are met.
* Explore and co-design initiatives that deliver reciprocal value for the community, employees, and NGM Group, leveraging partnerships to create meaningful employee experiences aligned with the Foundations' mission and values.
* Support partner and employee development through capacity-building initiatives that strengthen skills, knowledge, and confidence.
* Lead the creation, management, and distribution of high-quality content, including case studies, success stories, co-branded materials, press releases, and joint announcements, across web, EDMs, social media, media, and industry publications.
* Ensure partners' use of NGM Group intellectual property is accurate, appropriate, and compliant with brand guidelines and legal requirements.
* Monitor and evaluate partnership performance to ensure objectives are met, providing feedback and practical support where needed.
* Collaborate with partners to track and report on impact, ensuring initiatives align with strategic goals and program logic.
* Prepare and contribute relevant content for Board papers and other governance documents.
* Proactively identify and mitigate risks to protect the organisation, and continuously monitor partner and Foundation operations to ensure PAF compliance.
* Support the optimisation of Foundation operations and processes through simplification, innovation, and a focus on delivering a positive partnership experience.
* Contribute to operational plans and ensuring alignment with broader NGM Group objectives.
* Contribute to thought leadership initiatives that position the Foundations as leaders in corporate social responsibility and philanthropy.
* Lead or contribute to projects, including cross-functional working groups, partner projects, and joint Foundation events, ensuring end-to-end delivery on time, within scope, and aligned to organisational priorities.
* Participate in industry forums and networks to stay informed on best practice in funding principles and foundation operations as appropriate.

What are we looking for?

* Tertiary qualifications in Communication, Business, or related field, or equivalent industry experience.
* Experience in partnership management, business development, or corporate social responsibility roles, with a strong track record in building and managing successful partnerships/relationships.
* Experience in the nonprofit, philanthropic, or CSR sector is highly desirable.
* Experience in the development, delivery, and evaluation of a broad range of integrated campaigns and projects for a variety of audiences.
* Exceptional communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to build strong, trusted relationships across internal teams, partners, and external organisations.
* Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to craft clear, engaging content for diverse audiences and channels.
* High attention to detail and a strong sense of accountability, particularly in relation to governance, reporting accuracy, risk awareness, and meeting board or regulatory expectations.
* A collaborative, proactive mindset with a passion for making things happen—bringing creativity and energy to help our partners and programs succeed.
* Aptitude or experience in preparing reports, briefing notes, or board papers, presenting information clearly and logically to support decision-making.
* Problem-solving ability and comfort analysing information to support communication planning and outcomes.
