Assistant Director Strategic Policy – Shape the Future of Reef Management
We are seeking a policy, program and engagement professional, with experience in marine park management, to provide strategic policy advice on the Great Barrier Reef and its management.
The role will develop initiatives to support the Reef Authority adapting its management under a changing climate, lead and support contemporary strategic policy initiatives and broker strategic relationships and partnerships.
This will include managing diverse stakeholder perspectives, working collaboratively with and across relevant Queensland and Australian government agencies to gain support for the Reef Authority and guiding how the Reef Authority’s policies and programs provide for the long-term protection and conservation of the Great Barrier Reef World Heritage Area.

* Demonstrated experience in public sector administration, government policy or strategic program delivery
* Strong strategic thinking and the ability to navigate complex marine park and environmental issues
* Exceptional written communication skills and the ability to distil complex information into clear, risk‑informed advice
* Proven experience managing and influencing internal and external stakeholders
* Ability to lead, mentor and empower a high‑performing team
* Relevant qualifications and/or equivalent industry experience
