Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Cook to join our Childcare Centre team, responsible for delivering high-quality, nutritious meals that meet the diverse dietary needs of children in care.
* Key Responsibilities:
* Meal Planning and Preparation
* Plan, prepare, and serve nutritious, inclusive meals in accordance with food safety legislation and childcare nutritional guidelines.
* Maintaining Kitchen Hygiene
* Maintain a hygienic and safe kitchen environment, adhering to relevant food safety and hygiene practices.
* Catering to Dietary Requirements
* Cater to individual dietary requirements, including allergies, intolerances, and cultural preferences.
* Collaboration and Support
* Collaborate with childcare staff to support the health and wellbeing of children.
* Compliance and Certification
* Ensure compliance with all Work Health & Safety (WHS) standards and procedures. Possess a Food Safety Supervisor Certificate.
Desirable Qualifications and Experience
* Qualifications
* Certificate II/III in Food Services or equivalent experience.
* Knowledge and Skills
* Knowledge of National Quality Standards and Food Safety legislation.
* Previous Experience
* Experience preparing child-friendly menus in a care or institutional setting.
* Training and Certifications
* First Aid and Mandated Notification Training.
