Occupational Therapist – Rural Queensland Opportunity
Full-time | Part-time | Locum | FIFO options available - Immediate Start
Are you ready for a career that offers professional growth, flexibility, and the chance to make a real difference in a welcoming rural community?
Established in 2024, Moments Grow Occupational Therapy Services is a small private practice in rural Queensland (QLD) that services Cloncurry, Mount Isa and surrounding communities. We are expanding and we’re looking for an enthusiastic Occupational Therapist to join our team.
Whether you’re a new graduate, early career therapist, or experienced clinician, we offer supportive mentoring, flexible working arrangements, and a truly rewarding lifestyle — all while delivering high-quality, person-centred care.
What Sets Us Apart
We’re not a high-turnover, KPI-driven clinic. We pride ourselves on being relationship-focused, community-minded, and clinically strong. You’ll be part of a team that values your input, celebrates your successes, and supports your professional journey.
Here’s what makes our practice special:
- Small and personal: You’re not a number — your ideas and initiative matter.
- Strong professional support: Regular supervision, reflective practice, and case reviews.
- Tailored career development: Ongoing training and funded PD up to $10,000 through Health Workforce Queensland.
- Meaningful work: You’ll see firsthand the impact you make in people’s lives every day.
- Lifestyle balance: Flexible working hours, admin time built into your week, and a relaxed community atmosphere.
- True variety: Work across clinic, school, home, and community settings — no two days are the same.
What We Offer
- Market-competitive salary package (based on experience).
- Flexible working arrangements with one dedicated admin day each week.
- 5 weeks annual leave + 5 days paid PD leave.
- Funded PD opportunities up to $10,000 through HWQ.
- Annual flight home (for FIFO or remote arrangements).
- Achievable KPIs that prioritise client outcomes over numbers.
- Regular supervision and mentorship with experienced clinicians.
- Supportive admin team so you can focus on clinical work.
- Diverse caseload: Paediatrics, youth, adults, and disability across home, school, and community environments.
- Technology and resources provided — laptop, therapy materials, and travel reimbursement.
Key Responsibilities
As part of our team, you’ll:
- Deliver evidence-based occupational therapy services across various settings (clinic, school, community, telehealth).
- Complete functional assessments and develop tailored, goal-oriented intervention plans.
- Work collaboratively with clients, families, educators, and other allied health professionals.
- Support children and adults with developmental, physical, or psychosocial needs.
- Document progress, maintain clinical records, and contribute to team case reviews.
- Participate in clinical supervision, team meetings, and community initiatives that promote accessibility and inclusion.
- Represent the practice with professionalism, compassion, and commitment to holistic care.
What You’ll Need
- Tertiary qualification in Occupational Therapy.
- AHPRA registration (or eligibility for registration).
- Current driver’s licence and access to a reliable vehicle.
- Working with Children Check (Blue Card) and National Police Check (or willingness to obtain).
- NDIS Worker Screening Clearance (or willingness to obtain).
- A passion for client-centred, strengths-based practice.
- Excellent communication and time-management skills.
- Openness to learning, creativity in problem-solving, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a small team.
