Job Opportunity

Legal Practitioner - Mental Health Separate Representative

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Legal Practitioner to join our team in a dynamic environment. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing legal advice and information to clients regarding the law, rights, and legal processes.

* Provide legal advice and information to clients on a range of topics including mental health law, family law, and civil litigation.
* Conduct research and gather expert reports to inform your legal advice and representation.
* Act as solicitor and counsel at Tribunals, the Magistrates Court, and Supreme Court.
* Collaborate with other professionals to ensure effective support and guidance for clients.
* Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders, including colleagues, managers, and directors.
* Assist in the development of policy and legislation to support law reform and complex legal matters relating to the civil jurisdiction.
* Engage in service development, outreach, and community legal education activities.

The successful applicant will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. They will also possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the capacity to think critically and creatively.

Requirements

To be considered for this role, applicants must have:

* A degree in Law (LL.B) or equivalent qualification.
* Current admission to practice as a lawyer in Tasmania.
* At least 3 years' experience in a similar role, preferably in a mental health or related field.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
