Personal Assistant to Regional Lawyer — Full-Time or Part-Time (Flexible)
Location: Dubbo, NSW
About the Role
We're looking for a forward-thinking, proactive Personal Assistant to support a busy regional lawyer who runs a small law firm, raises young kids, and manages life on a farm — all with good humour, heart, and ambition.
Minimum 5+ years of supporting senior executives or similar experience is required for this position.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys variety, likes being the calm in the storm, and can help keep the wheels turning smoothly across both business and life. You'll be working alongside a kind, generous professional who moves fast, thinks big, and occasionally spreads themselves a little thin — so we're looking for someone who can anticipate needs, stay organised, and keep things humming.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide high-level administrative and personal support to the principal lawyer
* Manage calendars, appointments, and scheduling across work, family, and farm life
* Screen and respond to emails, calls, and correspondence
* Coordinate travel, meetings, and events
* Handle practical day-to-day logistics (from office tasks to errands as needed)
* Keep systems, workflows, and priorities on track — especially during busy periods
* Act as a trusted sounding board and right-hand person, helping to turn good intentions into action
About You
* Exceptionally organised and proactive — you think two steps ahead
* Comfortable working in a fast-paced small business environment
* Flexible and adaptable — no two days will be exactly the same
* Excellent communicator, with a sense of humour and discretion
* Tech-savvy (comfortable with Microsoft Office, email systems, and ideally some legal software or willing to learn)
* Happy to work independently and take initiative, while knowing when to check in
* Able to manage competing priorities with grace and calm
* Empathetic and grounded — you can read the room and help steady the pace when things get hectic
* Commitment to working a minimum of 30 hours per week is required
* Australian citizenship or permanent residency is required for this position
Why You'll Love This Role
* You'll be part of a down-to-earth, supportive, and community-minded team
* Flexibility in hours (for the right person school-friendly hours possible)
* A chance to genuinely make a difference — freeing up time and headspace so the lawyer can focus on what matters most
* Every day will bring something new
If you have lots of experience to bring to this role and keen to deliver dedication, remuneration and conditions (such as additional annual leave) is negotiable.
