About the Program
The Transport Operations Branch is where key road and drainage services are delivered directly to the Logan City community. The branch is focused on delivering excellent customer service in a timely manner and of a high quality. Our branch is made up of 2 operational programs, Road Maintenance' and 'Road Construction'.
About the role
The Transport Operations branch have 5 x Permanent Full-Time positions available for Skilled Team Members. In this role you will undertake a range of onsite tasks and lead small areas of work within a road or drainage project. The position will oversee a section of work and play a lead role on site supported by the Team Leader.
The day to day operations of the role will see you be able to work cooperatively within a team environment and act with a level of self management. You will have technical expertise with basic interpretation of plans and specifications, including setting out of individual segments of a project with a highly level of personal safety for yourself and others in the workplace.
Skills & Qualifications
* Possession of a General Safety Induction Card (Construction Industry) White Card
* Possession of a "C" Class Drivers Licence
* Applicants must undergo a pre-employment functional assessment (this may include respiratory testing) and be assessed as being able to meet the functional requirements of the position
* An MR Licence (or higher class) when driving vehicles 4.5T GVM is desirable
* Truck License and tickets for various plant and equipment (desirable)
* First Aid Certificate (desirable)
* Possession of Certificate III in Civil Construction will be advantageous
* Leadership & coordination skills, with the ability to stimulate a high level of performance & foster teamwork
* Experience in a wide range of Labouring activities relating to Civil Construction is highly desirable
* Thorough understanding of Health and Safety risks and hazards monitoring practices
* Sound Computer skills required
